Job Summary
The Junior Accountant position is responsible for performing accounting related duties on a professional level and works with the Controller and CFO to support all PowerGrid requirements. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: Month End Close, Fixed Assets, Journal Entries, Account Reconciliations, Accruals and Allocations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Reconcile discrepancies and resolve any accounting issues.

  • Assist with quarterly and annual audits, as well as tax filings.

  • Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to maintain data integrity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making.

  • Prepares accruals and allocations of certain GL Accounts for month end closing.

  • Prepares the necessary journal entries for accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.

  • Completes monthly reconciliation and review of Credit Card Charges, Account Payable and Payroll account

  • Manages Fixed Assets

  • Records purchases and disposals with coordination from Fleet department

  • Posts and reconciles depreciation and amortization

  • Reconciles Fixed Asset list to GL

  • Audits time entry weekly and prepares equipment reports

  • Generates financial statements and management reports after month end close

  • Other Ad Hoc reports and analysis as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • CPA certification preferred

  • Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

  • Consists of sedentary work. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

  • Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures or viewing a computer screen.
