Job Title: Entry Level Packager | Weekly Pay

Job Description

This entry-level role in the plastic extrusion department focuses on assembly and packaging support for extrusion operators. You will assemble housings for cartridges using small hand tools, label cartridges accurately, and package finished products. The work involves handling extruded plastic that is rolled onto large spools, placing the spools into protective plastic, and loading them into cartridges in a fast-paced, controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support extrusion operators by performing assembly and packaging tasks in the plastic extrusion department.
  • Assemble housings for cartridges using small hand tools with attention to detail and product quality.
  • Label cartridges clearly and accurately according to established standards and procedures.
  • Package extruded plastic that has been rolled onto spools, ensuring products are properly protected and prepared for shipment or further processing.
  • Remove spools of extruded plastic from machines safely and efficiently, then place them into plastic coverings and load them into cartridges.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, pick-and-pack style environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
  • Follow all manufacturing and warehouse procedures, including safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
  • Use basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications to complete simple data entry, labeling, or tracking tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with extrusion operators and other staff to support smooth production flow.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6+ months of packaging or warehouse experience, preferably in a fast-paced pick-and-pack environment.
  • Assembly experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic computer skills for labeling, tracking, or documentation tasks.
  • Comfort using small hand tools for assembly work.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Plastics manufacturing or extrusion experience is a strong plus but not required.
  • Experience as a machine operator or in machine operating environments.
  • Background in warehouse operations, including packaging, labeling, and general material handling.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills in a production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
