The Role

Are you a recent college graduate who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and collaborating with a team to deliver meaningful results? If you're curious, analytical, and excited to learn, this role offers a unique opportunity to launch your career at Fidelity. As an Associate Analyst on Fidelity's Defined Benefit team, you'll help support retirement plans that serve millions of employees and retirees across the country. Defined Benefit plans, commonly known as pension plans, are employer-sponsored retirement programs that provide participants with a predictable source of retirement income.

No prior pension experience is required. We'll provide training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to help you develop expertise in retirement plan administration, data analysis, and client-focused problem solving. You'll work with large datasets, analyze business processes, support client projects, and collaborate with partners across Fidelity. You'll gain exposure to retirement operations, technology, project management, and consulting while building valuable analytical and professional skills.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze and validate large datasets using tools such as Excel, SQL, and other reporting platforms.
  • Learn how pension plans operate and become a subject matter expert in Defined Benefit administration.
  • Support client projects, operational enhancements, and business process improvements.
  • Research and resolve complex data, plan, and operational issues.
  • Partner with internal teams to design and implement solutions that improve client and participant experiences.
  • Assist with corporate actions and change orders, which are requests to update how a client's pension plan is administered or maintained.
  • Participate in meetings and planning activities to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate business requests and identify potential impacts to operations, systems, and client deliverables.
  • Help identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams on initiatives that support Fidelity's Defined Benefit business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree - Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Business Administration majors are preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Experience with SQL, Access, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or other analytical tools preferred.
  • Exposure to actuarial science concepts is a plus.
  • Internship, academic project, or coursework involving data analysis, reporting, or process improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

This role resides within Workplace Investing Defined Benefit Operations organization. Fidelity has achieved the top position as thelargestDefined Benefit (DB)recordkeeper in the US, as measured by total participants under administration. Fidelity has been a trusted Defined Benefit provider in the industry for over 30 years, demonstrating consistent growth and innovation. Fidelity's Defined Benefit group services all plan sizes and complexity. We offer an integrated participant experience to help focus on simplification, accuracy, and the highest level of service.

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $48,000-91,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
