Experience as an automotive hobbyist or prior careers within the automotive industry is highly desired and should be noted on your application. All levels of prior experience in the automotive industry are welcome to apply. Experience in machine shops or engine rebuilding is a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Approaches and greets all customers on the sales floor and at counter.

  • Assists and sells to prospective customers and explains type of products offered.

  • Estimates quantity of merchandise needed. Demonstrates use of merchandise when possible.

  • Researches products available for purchase based upon the customers' needs.

  • Promotes manager specials and sale items to all customers.

  • Assists customers with proper selection of items.

  • Suggests additional products to customer where appropriate.

  • Quotes prices and tries to persuade customer to buy today.

  • Secures orders and keys data into computer and informs customer of delivery date when item is not in stock.

  • Records names, addresses, and email addresses of customers.

  • Maintains a clean work area at all times.

  • Arranges store displays and restocks product when necessary.

  • Interacts and communicates with all department team leaders and supervisors.

  • Thank customer for their business.

  • Follows performance standards as written.

  • Computer proficiency a MUST

Additional duties as a Level 1 Counter Salesperson:

  • General order maintenance pertaining to own orders, including RENTRY and SENTRY orders and all mail order procedures.

  • Assist with Restocking the Store.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); completion of at least 3-6 months as an Entry Level Salesperson. Racing experience is a plus. Must be aware of latest performance trends for both domestic and import markets.

Schedule & working hours:

  • After training, scheduled is designed to meet customer/business needs. Weekend & closing shift(s) are required. The option of working (4) 10-hour shifts or (5) 8-hour shifts are available.

  • Retail employees cover all hours of operation with periods of overtime, as needed.

Earning Potential**

Starting wage/first year:

  • Level 1 Retail Sales starting wage is $16.40 per hour plus commission. Average annual wage - $42,000 to $54,000 per year (hourly + commission)

  • Commission per hour average range is three - six dollars from actual hourly wage.
