Job description

KAW NATION POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                                              EPA Summer Intern
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:       EPA Director
CONTROLLING SUPERVISOR: CHAIR
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Kaw Nation Environmental Department is looking for a high school graduate and/or a college level student studying sciences for summer help. Position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and data entry-level computer skills.  This position will require a minimum of 20 hours per week.  These positions will be from June 1st  through Mid-August.
The applicant must be able to communicate well, both verbally and written format, and prepare and present technically correct and detailed material through presentations.  Must be at least eighteen years of age, possess a valid driver license and be insurable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Responsibilities assisting in water, fish and micro invertebrate sampling and analysis, mowing, recyclable outreach air quality monitoring, data entry and other environmental related duties. 
  2. Complete any other duties assigned by the immediate or controlling supervisor.

All summer hires will be required by the Kaw Nation (post hire) to submit to an employment drug screen and background check.  Failure to pass the post hire drug screen will lead to withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment.
