GHD has a great opportunity for an Entry Level Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Borger, Tx office . This position is an integral part of our contamination, assessment, and remediation (CAR) business group and requires a diverse array of responsibilities. Working on a diverse range of projects, this role is a "hands on" field position requiring travel and occasional overnight work throughout the area.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in (RESPONSIBILITIES):
  • Inspection, maintenance, monitoring and sampling of environmental groundwater wells
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe and compliant manner with respect to applicable OSHA, GHD and client standards. Majority of work will be performed in a refinery environment.
  • Generate litigation quality field notes and enter collected field data electronically to database programs
  • Correspondence with certified laboratory and shipping of collected samples
  • Perform site inspections and collection of assessment field data including soil, surface water and air
  • Operations and maintenance, troubleshooting and oversight of remedial equipment including groundwater extraction systems, soil vapor extraction, dual phase extraction and related environmental remediation equipment
  • Work directly with clients and contractors

What you will bring to the team (what they possess):
  • GED or High School diploma
  • Candidate must live within one-hour drive time from the City of Borger, TX or willing to relocate to Borger, TX.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform field work in a refinery environment (i.e., wear respirator)
  • Commitment to safety utilizing a behavior-based safety culture in all aspects of the job
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and computer aptitude
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel out of town
  • Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions, such as hot/cold temperatures, wet weather, outside, and around loud equipment and traversing rough terrains
  • Ability to be a self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision in a drug-free workplace
  • Ability to analyze field readings, data, and operating parameters to optimize system operations
