Job description

OverviewThe Financial Analyst 1 will support project and departmental leaders to provide area financial reporting and ad hoc analysis for budgeting, forecasting, process improvement and key strategic initiatives. This position will provide analytical support to Cirrus' Business Unit to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), leveraging and improving upon existing metrics, and identifying business insights, trends, and risks through related measurement and analysis. This position will analyze historical spending trends, evaluate different scenarios and help the business team understand potential trade-offs in key decisions. This entry level role will build familiarity with Cirrus business systems and operations, build and strengthen financial acumen, and build creditability in financial analysis.Responsibilities
  • Deliver clear financial insights on business performance by analyzing results, identifying key drivers, and communicating actionable recommendations to support decision-making
  •  Partner cross-functionally with business leaders and accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, proper transaction recording, and alignment between operational activity and financial outcomes
  •  Support the development and ongoing management of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational goals and evolving business conditions
  •  Conduct comprehensive variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast), highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities related to headcount, operating costs, and expenses
  •  Contribute to monthly and periodic financial reviews, ensuring stakeholders understand performance results and underlying drivers
  • Liaise with business teams and accounting department ensuring transactions are appropriately accounted for in the financials
  •  Assist in the preparation, validation, and execution of standard cost processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in cost data
  • Maintain, and enhance financial reporting tools, dashboards, and models to improve data visibility, usability, and decision support
  •  With oversight, perform ad hoc financial analysis to address business questions, evaluate opportunities, and support strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, enhance data quality, and proactively adapt to changing operational needs
  •  Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and internal controls, maintaining a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and reliability
  •  Actively support our mission, vision and core values and demonstrates Cirrus' Service Essentials.
  •  Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, finance related data analytics or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency and expertise in Excel (pivot tables, charts, advanced formulas, data imports, management of large data sets, etc.)
  •  Experience in using data analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.)
  •  Exceptional problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to drive operational initiatives
  •  Excellent time management and organizational ability; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Innate curiosity: Demonstrates ability to look deeper and tactfully ask probing questions to identify issues and create innovative solutions
Preferred: Minimum of one to two years experience in financial analysis or accounting preferred
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive financial forecasts and appropriately represent financial information
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience in tool development a plus
