Job description

Entry Level Structural Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our California team. Office location is either in Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Ontario, CA.

This position is expected to start in Fall 2026.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related study
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a year
  • Coursework in structural analysis, concrete design, and steel design
  • Knowledge in Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk Suite (Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD)
