CPH has an opening for the following position:
  • Entry-level (EIT) or Mid-Level Project Engineer

CPH is looking for a strong and talented Entry-level/Mid-level Project Engineer for their team in Columbia, SC. This person will be responsible of directing the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion. This role involves coordinating the efforts of the engineering team, contractors, and vendors to achieve project goals. efficiently. The Entry-level (EIT) or Mid-Level Project Engineer will ensure all aspect of the project execution, from planning to final delivery are met withing budget and meeting the required quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Lead/ manage the planning, design, and production of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with goals, schedules, and budget.
  • Uses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development following CPH and client's standards and templates.
  • Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resources management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
  • Development of technical specifications, evaluation of shop drawings, and oversight of construction administration duties as the Engineer of Record.
  • Assesses vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status.
  • Monitors progress of development project and compares actual costs with estimates.
  • Works with design group to modify plans as appropriate if problems arise.
  • Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress, and costs for next level management.
  • Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Periodic travel to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation. Duty includes preparation or review of subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Cooperates with project engineers from other plants to share similar Supervision and support in consolidating construction plans across all disciplines and coordinating submissions to regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software's platforms.
  • Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team.
  • Comfortable working and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of codes and design and construction practices.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.

Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with EIT or mid-level experience with ability to swiftly receive P.E. License in the state of South Carolina. Ability to obtain additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
  • Experience in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Proficiency in REVIT is required. AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Suite experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
