Job Description The Deployment Support Planner (Logistics Planner 2) provides critical expertise to 9AF AFCENT/A3 in executing deployment planning, force management, and global force allocation functions across the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility. This role delivers high-level analytical support, ensures data accuracy in deployment systems, and enables timely and effective coordination of contingency, exercise, and steady-state requirements. The Planner serves as a trusted advisor to Functional Area Managers (FAMs), supporting requirement identification, sourcing, validation, and message development to ensure mission success for 9AF AFCENT and aligned units. Essential Job Responsibilities • Provide expert guidance and analytical support for 9AF AFCENT deployment planning activities.
• Offer specialized expertise in all aspects of Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) for contingency, exercise, and steady-state operations.
• Facilitate Office of Functional Area Manager Oversight (OFAMO) actions in accordance with AFI 10-401, ensuring 9AF AFCENT FAMs have proper system access and training.
• Assist Functional Area Managers with identifying and validating requirements in JOPES and DCAPES using FRED and JCRM to ensure requirements are placed in the GFMAP and properly sourced.
• Analyze sourcing status and provide corrective-action guidance to FAMs.
• Support daily coordination and validation of TPFDD requirements and assist in manpower and personnel planning for emergent and enduring operations.
• Process and facilitate requests for Air Force support to other Services' contingency requirements.
• Provide expertise in building Deployment Requirements Manning Documents (DRMD).
• Review, analyze, and recommend improvements to training plans, exercise programs, Air Force Instructions, and joint publications.
• Support the effective deployment of response forces during emergent contingencies through the RFF process.
• Assist HQ FAMs in defining deployment requirements and process change requests in accordance with 9AF AFCENT procedures.
• Build and monitor contingency requirements in JOPES/DCAPES based on current operations.
• Manage daily Force Management TMT operations and serve as the resident TMT subject matter expert.
• Assist directorates and special staff with drafting, staffing, and distributing 9AF AFCENT message traffic, including FRAGOs, RFFs, DEPORDs, REDEPORDs, OPORDs, and GENADMINs.
• Monitor compliance with message development and distribution procedures.
• Provide guidance and support for Global Force Management functions for 9AF AFCENT forces across the USCENTCOM AOR.
• Assist deployed units in creating GFM products for emergent and recurring requirements and coordinate with USAF Commands, Higher Headquarters, and USCENTCOM to ensure 9AF AFCENT equities are reflected in the GFMAP. Minimum Qualifications 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience. • At least one year of experience using Microsoft Office applications and email systems (or equivalent).
• Minimum of three years of experience working with Component Command or NAF-level (or higher) operating procedures.
• At least three years of experience working with JCRM, JOPES, and DCAPES.
• Minimum of two years of experience with Global Force Management (GFM) processes and procedures. • Minimum Secret security clearance required • Must have a current/active US Passport with the ability to deploy forward to AFCENT forward AOR operations as needed. #LI-RM1 Preferred Requirements • Prior experience supporting AFCENT, USCENTCOM, or other major joint operational headquarters.
• Familiarity with AFI 10-401 and deployment planning guidance.
• Demonstrated expertise in DRMD development and TPFDD management for contingency operations.
• Experience coordinating sourcing actions and requirement validation with multiple stakeholders.
