Job description

Job Summary:

Ready to turn your passion for electronics into real-world impact? As an Entry Level Electronics Engineer at Centrus Energy, you'll jump into hands-on work supporting advanced instrumentation, motor controls, and power electronics that power critical manufacturing and enrichment operations. This is your chance to learn from experienced engineers, build your technical skills, and contribute to systems that truly matter-all while launching your engineering career in a high-tech, mission-driven environment.

What You Will Do

You'll support the design, development, testing, and deployment of control electronics, working alongside experienced engineers to bring systems from concept to reality. You'll assist with creating design packages, running simulations using tools like PSPICE or MATLAB, and troubleshooting electrical systems in both lab and plant environments. Along the way, you'll collaborate across engineering disciplines, contribute to technical documentation, and support ongoing improvements to system performance, reliability, and efficiency-gaining exposure to everything from low-voltage circuits to complex industrial power systems.

We'd Love to Hear from People With:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Internship, co-op, or academic experience in electronics, embedded systems, or electrical design
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, including low-voltage DC and three-phase AC concepts
  • Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools such as PSPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar
  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain (or already possess) a "Q" clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:

  • Hands-on project or lab experience in electronics design, testing, or troubleshooting
  • Exposure to manufacturing, R&D, or industrial environments through internships or coursework
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, or ANSI
  • Interest in embedded systems or motor control applications
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Currently possesses a "Q" or "L" clearance

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

Centrus Energy and all subsidiaries shall abide by the applicable legal requirements. We prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals based on their status as protected veterans or individuals with disabilities and prohibit discrimination against all individuals based on their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.  Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made.  In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.  Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
