Job Summary This is an administrative, entry-level educational internship position. The Administrative Intern performs a variety of duties under the direction and supervision of the City Manager's Office. The Intern is responsible for projects and assignments as directed and may assist various department heads with departmental responsibilities, administrative support, research, and special projects as needed.

This position is intended to provide students with valuable hands-on experience and exposure to municipal government operations and public administration. Essential Job Functions Provide administrative support to City staff and departments as assigned Assist with clerical duties including filing, scanning, copying, and document organization Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and databases Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and preparation of reports or meeting materials Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff in-person, by phone, and via email Support special projects, research assignments, and operational initiatives as assigned Assist with records management and document retention efforts Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information Collaborate with staff to support efficient delivery of City services Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Current enrollment in an accredited college or university program (graduate students preferred; undergraduate students considered) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint preferred) Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education and Experience LEARNING OUTCOMES & WHAT YOU'LL GAIN Practical experience in municipal government operations Exposure to public administration and local government services Professional development through mentorship and hands-on work Experience in administrative procedures, communication, and organizational systems Insight into how local government serves the community
