Main purpose of the Assistant E-Commerce Photographer role:

Photo assisting on editorial shoots, Special event photography as needed

Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist photographers in both Ready-To-Wear and Stills with shoot prep, set maintenance, and camera operation
  • Focus on on-set support rather than post-processing or advanced technical tasks
  • Learn and follow all visual and style guides for both product and on-model shoots
  • Help organize digital folders and maintain a clean, efficient studio environment
  • Provide hands-on support during shoots, including:
    • RVLV shoots
    • Headshots
    • Assistant lighting and test shots
  • Communicate promptly via email and keep current with all scheduling and operational updates
  • Utilize Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to assist with shoot tracking and checklists
  • Shadow senior team members to develop technical skills over time


Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Positive attitude and willingness to learn:

  • Familiarity with DSLR cameras and studio lighting/metering sets
  • A superb eye for attention to detail, style, and visual composition
  • Ability to work with different teams and take direction well
  • Strong communication skills and reliable team player
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to work in the intensity of a high production studio and capable of upholding the highest quality standards
  • Possesses exceptional organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Entry-level portfolio or academic project samples
  • Comfortable with Mac OS and Google Workspace
  • Physically able to lift 25+ lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience assisting in a studio environment or photography internship
  • Interest in fashion or product photography as a career path
  • Understanding of retail and e-commerce trends
  • Familiarity with Capture One and tethered shooting workflows

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $21.00 to $22.00
