Disability Services Coordinator - Professional Development Fellowship Program
Salary: $22.53per hour based on a 35-work week

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is apart of the Professional Development Fellowship programfocused on providing access to a entry level career pathway at Duquesne University.This position will be housed in the disability services department and focus ona variety of items such as mentorship, guidance, event planning and attendanceand general duties within our student life division.
This position operates on a year-to-year contract basis with the maximum timeof two years.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Providesmentorship to students on campus.
Provides ongoing support to studentswith disabilities, particularly those transitioning from high school tocollege.
Helps students developself-advocacy, time management, and communication skills related toaccommodation use.
Refers students to campus resources(e.g., counseling services, tutoring, advising, adaptive technology).
Collaborates with campus partners such as:
Academic advising;
Residence life/housing;
Faculty;
Counseling and health services;
Coordinates exam accommodations, including scheduling,proctoring logistics, and secure handling of exams.
Supports students in accessing assistive technology andalternative formats (e.g., accessible PDFs, captions).
Learns and assists with disability services software platforms (e.g.,Accommodate).
Maintains accurate and confidentialstudent records in accordance with FERPA, ADA, and institutional policies.
Documents student interactions,accommodation decisions, and service outcomes.
Follow established procedures toensure consistency and legal compliance.
Support disability awareness initiatives and access-relatedprogramming.
Assist with presentations ortrainings for:
Faculty and staff;
Student employees;
Orientation or transition programs;
Stay informed about best practices, legal updates, andemerging trends in postsecondary disability access.
Provide general office support,including answering emails, managing appointments, and assisting withdepartmental projects.
Completes otherduties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Organizational Skills;
The ability towork with a variety of populations and maintain confidentiality.
Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
Ability and willingness to contribute actively to the mission of the Universityand to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.
