Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound school required


License/Certifications:

  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • RDCS from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or RCS issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred or willing to obtain within one year from start date


Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred
  • Applicants with at least 3 years of experience may be considered as an Echo Sonographer II
Summary of Essential Duties:
  • The Echo Sonographer I is an entry level position that assists physicians in performing basic Echocardiographic imaging and other procedures.
  • Performs ultrasound imaging technologies for cardiac patients in an in-patient and out-patient setting.
  • Assists with detecting issues related to blood flow and heart ailments and escalates appropriately to physicians as they develop diagnoses and design patient treatment plans.
  • Receives mentorship until able to exercise competency in the use of all related ultrasound equipment and imaging protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe patient environment and ensures that the room and equipment are prepared, functional and stocked for assigned procedures.
