Job Summary and Qualifications
The Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonographer specializes in performing pediatric echocardiograms, including exercise and pharmacological stress tests, as well as transesophageal echocardiograms. This role requires an understanding of human growth and development and age-specific treatment ranges to meet the needs of pediatric patients effectively. The sonographer will also be responsible for clerical duties related to cardiovascular procedures, ensuring high standards of practice, quality of care, and a patient-centered approach to service. This PRN (on-call) position has no set shifts but requires availability to respond to pediatric echo needs as they arise.
What you will do in this role:
- Perform echocardiograms, including exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms for pediatric patients.
- Conduct bubble studies and use contrast agents when necessary.
- Maintain, clean, and ensure the proper function of all testing equipment.
- Document probe cleaning status with the TD100 automated system.
- Proficiently use the digital acquisition and archival system for study documentation.
- Educate patients on the procedures they will undergo.
- Conduct bedside studies and assist with patient transport as needed.
- Participate in an on-call schedule to support pediatric echo needs.

What qualifications you will need:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start date.
- Registered in Adult Echocardiography (RDMS or CCI) or registry-eligible, with completion of registry within 12 months of hire.
- Prior experience in pediatric echocardiography is strongly preferred.
- Ability to provide call on a PRN basis, primarily for nights and weekends.
