Position Summary:

This is a full-time, entry level position conducting meter readings of gas and electric meters throughout the Central Hudson NYS territory. Candidates with outdoor, retail or driving experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Safely and accurately read electric and gas consumption meters
  • Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections
  • Polite and professional interactions with the public and clients
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.

Position Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working outside
  • Ability to walk between 1 to 5 miles each day
  • Enjoy working outdoors in various types of weather and terrain such as wooded, urban and rural areas.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License and good driving record
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
