As the Entry-Level Designer/Drafter (Shore Support) you will be on a dynamic team, supporting ship and shore design at our Virginia Beach, VA location. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on our military defense and safety of our sailors.

Serco's Engineering and drafting group supports the US Navy across multiple contracts that sustain shore and shipboard systems across various platforms and installations. Our team conducts surveys, documents as-built conditions, and produces design plans used for installations at Navy facilities around the world. You will be part of a critical team that collaborates closely with our customers and other Serco teams to deliver quality technical drawings.

This team is recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions across multiple contracts and programs. In this role, you will: * Prepare drawings using AutoCAD in support of Shore facilities. * Prepare drawings based on redlines, site check notes and photos.

* Complete site surveys. * Perform self-check on drawings. * Possibly develop a range of products.

* Adhere to Quality Assurance process and/or procedures. To be successful in this role you will have: * * Ability to obtain and maintain an active/current DoD Secret clearance. * US Citizenship.

* An Associate's Degree. * A High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate's Degree. * 1 year of experience.

* Experience in drafting and design or similar/related experience. * College level training in AutoCAD or similar/related training. * Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within drafting.

* Ability to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short, multiple deadlines. * Proficiency in Microsoft skills, especially in Excel and Word. * Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels.

* Ability to learn NIWC and DoD drawing drafting standards. * Ability to adhere to regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory. * Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels.

* Ability to wear PPE and move in areas under construction/repair. * Ability to physically complete site surveys. * Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

* Ability to work a hybrid schedule (in office to start). * Ability to obtain a US Passport. * Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills: * * An active/current DoD Secret Clearance. * Experience preparing drawings using AutoCAD (professional AutoCAD training required, either commercial training or high school/college). * Knowledge and training in Revit, SolidWorks or Inventor.
