Program Assistant

About JARC:

JARC is a Michigan based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides high-quality, community-based residential and support programs, serving nearly 200 adults in its group homes and various supported independent living arrangements.

About this position:

The Program Assistant provides administrative, coordination, onboarding, training, and program support to ensure the effective delivery of organizational programs and services. This position serves as a key support resource for new employees entering the program, helping them understand program expectations, policies, procedures, documentation requirements and organizational culture.

The Program Assistant also provides entry level support to philanthropy and development activities, including donor communications, fundraising events, data entry, acknowledgements, and other activities that support organizational fundraising and community engagement.

The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with people, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program & New Hire Onboarding

· Coordinate and support the onboarding of new employees assigned to the program.

· Serve as an initial point of contact for new hires and help them successfully transition into their program assignments.

· Conduct or assist with program-specific orientation, including policies, procedures, expectations, schedules, documentation, communications standards and workplace practices.

Training and Development Support

· Maintain training schedules, attendance records for OCHN, Docebo and Red Cross.

· Prepare training materials, handouts, presentations and other resources.

· Manage Azuga driving records and provide monthly scorecards to home and district management.

Operations and Philanthropy Support

· Support grant, sponsorship, or fundraising projects with administrative tasks as appropriate

· Assist with home operations needs such as RemoteLock, fire extinguishers, and home checklists and more

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in administrative support, program coordination, human resources, training, nonprofit, healthcare, or a related environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgement.
