Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Junior Digital Production Specialist to join our Digital Creative team. In this role, you will support the execution, publishing, and maintenance of digital content across our websites and digital platforms. You'll work closely with the Digital Creative team while partnering with Marketing, Merchandising, UX, and Development teams to ensure content is published accurately, on time, and in accordance with established brand and quality standards.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in digital production. You'll gain hands-on experience with content management systems (CMS), quality assurance, campaign launches, and website operations while learning industry best practices for digital publishing and production workflows.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Site Design - 90%
What You'll Do:
  • Build, publish, and maintain digital content, landing pages, promotional experiences, and other web assets using the Content Management System (CMS).
  • Execute scheduled content updates, promotional campaigns, and seasonal launches according to production calendars and established timelines.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) testing to validate content accuracy, functionality, formatting, links, responsiveness, and overall user experience across supported browsers and devices.
  • Maintain website content through updates, revisions, and archiving activities.
  • Support production activities, including URL redirects, campaign setup, merchandising updates, and other production requests.
  • Follow established workflows, documentation, governance, and brand standards to ensure accurate and consistent execution.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, marketers, merchandisers, and business partners to complete assigned work and meet project deadlines.
  • Identify and escalate production issues, technical defects, or content discrepancies as needed.
  • Participate in scheduled website launches, including overnight, early morning, evening, and occasional weekend production deployments, to support promotional campaigns, seasonal events, and major site updates.
  • Develop a working knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG), SEO fundamentals, and digital production best practices to support high-quality customer experiences.
  • Continuously build technical proficiency with CMS platforms, production tools, and emerging digital technologies.

Internal Support - 10%
  • Assist with internal website updates and production support requests.
  • Participate in team meetings, production reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Web Design & Development, Interactive Media, or a similar discipline
Experience:
  • 0-2 years of experience in digital production, web content management, eCommerce, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Internship, freelance, academic, or hands-on experience publishing website content or working with Content Management Systems (CMS) is preferred.
  • Experience building responsive, user-focused websites or landing pages.
  • Experience working collaboratively with designers, marketers, and developers.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms such as WordPress, AEM, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Familiarity with responsive web design principles.
  • Exposure to website QA testing and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of SEO and web accessibility concepts.
  • Experience using project management or work collaboration tools such as Workfront, Jira, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Interest in eCommerce, digital marketing, and customer experience.
