Associate Electrical Engineer
Onsite - Sterling, VA
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will assist in the design, engineering, testing, and production of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchboards and switchgear. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in electrical power distribution systems, panel design, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchboards and switchgear.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Support the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with equipment selection, including circuit breakers, busbars, protection devices, metering, and control components.
  • Coordinate with the mechanical engineering team to ensure electrical designs are integrated into panel layouts.
  • Support the production team by resolving electrical design and assembly queries.
  • Assist in reviewing customer specifications and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure engineering documentation is maintained accurately and revisions are properly controlled.
  • Follow company engineering standards, quality procedures, and project schedules.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in electrical design, manufacturing, or power systems (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Basic understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other electrical drafting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
