A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee-owned consultant engineering firm, is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Site / Civil Engineer to join our growing Site and Infrastructure team of design professionals in our Rockville, MD or Herndon, VA office. Position will start in May 2026 upon graduation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a Site Civil Engineer. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits along with the opportunity for significant challenges and rewards. In addition to supporting projects in the assigned office, the candidate may be involved with other AMT offices and project opportunities.
We provide an Excellent Work / Life Balance and an opportunity to work a Hybrid (Combination of Office and Remote) schedule
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without employer sponsorship. This position is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsorship, either H1-B or OPT Based future sponsorship.
Responsibilities

  • Design of site and infrastructure improvements including grading, utilities, erosion control, stormwater management, site layout, and preparation of calculations and reports.
  • Support and preparation of construction documents.
  • Processing construction and permit documents through the regulatory agencies.
  • Construction support services including site inspections and construction administration duties.
Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Technical proficiency in using AutoCAD including Civil 3D preferred.
  • Ability to assist on preparation of engineering studies and reports.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Prior Internship experience with preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates preferred.
