Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and entry-level Junior Building Engineer to assist in the maintenance, operation, and repair of our facility's mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and develop a strong foundation in building engineering. The candidate will interface directly with the company's executives, property management staff, tenants and outside vendors.
Under the supervision of engineering department in conjunction with property management support the implementation and documentation of the site safety plans and all Omninet operational standards and guidelines as well as site specific standards, policies and procedures relating to the engineering department.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Support Sr. Building Engineers and/or Building Engineers in performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems.
โ€ข Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues under the guidance of experienced engineers.
โ€ข Participate in emergency response efforts to address urgent repairs and building-related incidents.
โ€ข Collaborate with the engineering team to learn and contribute to operational tasks.
โ€ข Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
โ€ข Learn and assist in planning and executing preventative maintenance schedules.
โ€ข Observe energy consumption trends and assist in implementing energy-saving practices.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
โ€ข Assist in the installation and testing of new equipment and systems.
โ€ข Actively function as a team member.
โ€ข Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
โ€ข Complies and participates with Omninet policies, procedures, safety program and facilities specific safety program.
โ€ข Provides highest quality of service to the tenants, staff and visitors at the facility.
โ€ข Maintains regular attendance in the workplace.
โ€ข Participate in regular required communication with Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Sr. Building Engineer, Management and other staff,

Qualifications

โ€ข Certification meeting OSHA awareness training requirements as required.
โ€ข Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is desirable.

โ€ข Problem solving mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team.
โ€ข Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues and learning from experienced engineers.
