Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor clients for withdrawal symptoms and medical concerns.
  • Administer medications in accordance with detox protocols and physician orders.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to urgent medical situations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Alleva, our detox-specific Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Educate clients on health, recovery, aftercare resources, new medications, and any prescription changes.
  • Foster a clean, safe, and supportive environment for all clients.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to develop and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Assist with client care, repositioning, and emergency situations (ability to lift up to 50 lbs required).
  • Utilize critical thinking and triage skills to address situations and de-escalate clients when necessary.
  • Provide support, guidance, and answers to client questions in a judgment-free environment, ensuring they feel comfortable without shame or guilt.
  • Maintain a maximum RN-to-client ratio of 1:9 to ensure quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah (no disciplinary actions, sanctions, probation, or diversions).
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, or detox preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms, detox protocols, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and online medication look-ups (including Drugs.com pill identification tool).
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs for patient care needs.
  • Ability to respond quickly in medical emergencies.
