Primary Purpose
Performs moderately complex electrical tasks and assists higher-level electricians in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures within assigned facilities. Ensures work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Primary Duties
  • Assists senior electricians in installing, repairing, and replacing electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, circuits, switchboards, circuit breakers, switches, relays, and related devices. Interprets electrical drawings and diagrams, makes measurements, and prepares sketches as needed.
  • Inspects, tests, and repairs electrical components associated with HVAC systems, including motors, pumps, and controls. Replaces malfunctioning motors and maintains equipment operating at various voltages (including 480V), as directed.
  • Inspects, tests and repairs fire alarm and smoke detection systems and equipment. Performs functional tests on safety switches and electronic control boards. Assists with mechanical adjustments and replacement of conveyor system components, as directed.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts circuit breakers and switches. Replaces contacts, relays, coils, and other components to ensure reliable operation.
  • Shapes and bends metal for brackets, braces, and supports. Cuts and drills copper bars for electrical contacts. Performs minor carpentry for equipment platforms and air deflectors. Duplicates keys as required.
  • Assists with temporary low-voltage setups for company events, including audio/visual systems and other related equipment. Provides support for seasonal or special installations requiring electrical connections. Operates company vehicles as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to safely and effectively use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, multimeters, drills).
  • Performs scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Job Scope
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance or installation.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Possess basic knowledge of building electrical codes, electrical equipment, etc.
  • Possess working knowledge of Company safety regulations and general first-aid practices.
  • Demonstrates ability to safely and effectively use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, multimeters, drills).
  • Possess a valid private motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Able to work overtime, including callout, consistent with the Labor Agreement.
  • All work must comply with company safety policies. Employees are expected to follow lockout/tagout procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and assist in resolving electrical issues.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions (e.g., standing, climbing ladders). Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E training).
  • Completion of an accredited electrical training program.

  • Hourly rates will be paid in accordance with terms of the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience or collective bargaining agreement: $40.73/Hr.
