Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

A highly experienced attorney and strategic thought leader who works independently and has major matter, team and/or client responsibilities as well as project management and/or other certain responsibilities for other attorneys or legal professionals on a project-specific/mentoring basis. Frequently supervises professional teams working on legal matters. Work generally involves handling complex matters of very substantial importance and executive leadership communication.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Performs as a specialist in one or more fields of law and provides technical and expert legal services to Exelon Business Units. Under little or no supervision, strategizes, plans, conducts and supervises large and highly complex and consequential legal assignments and evaluates both legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly, First chair representation in transactions, litigation, agency proceedings and/or other relevant matters. Interprets and provides direction on organization policy according to law. Provides legal counsel, communicates and presents to all levels of management, including senior and executive management. (75%)
  • Provides strategic leadership for projects and/or teams. (10%)
  • Accountable for budgets and outside counsel direction and oversight on applicable matters (10%)
  • Other projects / duties as assigned. (5%)
JOB SCOPE
  • Manages relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel
  • Demonstrates superior business knowledge in portions of the business and industry; anticipates and understands trends in areas of law related to the business
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • At least 10-12 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and an ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidateโ€™s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $190,400.00/Yr. - $261,800.00/Yr. plus an additional $25K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually.
