R&D Labeling & Regulatory Associate position

  • $28.85 – 32.50/hr. plus full benefits and bonus
  • Cypress, CA

Requirements of the R&D Labeling & Regulatory Associate:

  • 1–3 years of experience in food labeling or regulatory support
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. food regulations, including FDA rules, nutrition labeling, and allergens
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Logical and analytical thinking
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Basic knowledge of FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of food manufacturing, hygiene, and quality control
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition, chemistry, microbiology, and statistics
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and analytical testing procedures
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic cooking skills
  • Occasional travel (1-2/year)

Responsibilities of the R&D Labeling & Regulatory Associate:

This role supports labeling and regulatory activities for plant‐based products, contributes to product and process development, including new technologies, and performs general R&D tasks such as product maintenance and new product development.

  • Help review and prepare product labels (ingredients, allergens, Nutrition Facts, claims)
  • Check label artwork for regulatory accuracy
  • Research FDA and other food regulations and share summaries
  • Support regulatory compliance for products, labels, and documents
  • Assist with packaging EPR data collection and reporting
  • Help with product development by planning and running experiments
  • Organize data and report results to managers
  • Support PD, Marketing, Sales, QC/QA, and Production teams
  • Conduct shelf‐life and sensory testing
  • Research food trends and ingredients for new concepts
  • Assist with product formulation and testing

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
