The Job

As an Auction Property Assistant, you will provide support to the Auction Property team by inventorying, cataloging (assessing), and photographing bottles of wine in preparation for auctions within our temperature-controlled warehouse. A person in this position could potentially grow into a Junior Wine Specialist with demonstration of wine knowledge acquisition, along with other essential auction knowledge and property skills. Ideal for someone with little wine experience who wants to learn about auctions and the fine wine industry


Responsibilities

  • Supports assessing and lot check
  • Photographs bottles of wine for auction catalog
  • Builds boxes and safely packs wine
  • Photographs, builds, scans and moves pallets of wine
  • High-value bottle sign-off coordination and photography (setup, breakdown; maintain database, track, and locate outstanding HV photo boxes)
  • Maintains cleanliness, supplies, and stocking of assessing area
  • Property pick-up support (some travel possible)
  • Supports during auctions as needed (i.e., event set-up, data entry, wine service, etc.)
  • Assists with Auction catalog data review
  • Special projects as assigned


Requirements

This is an entry level position without direct prior experience required. See position requirements/selection factors below. Interest in wine or existing wine knowledge is a plus.


  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
  • Confident in their attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic, a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment is a must
  • Professionalism when interacting with clients
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work on your feet in a warehouse environment
  • Comfortable handling fragile inventory with care
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Must be 21 or over


Schedule: 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday—Friday. Some evenings and weekends required
