Business Intelligence Analyst

We are seeking a curious, motivated, early-career Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing analytics team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong academic or internship experience in data analytics, business analytics, or related fields who are excited to apply and expand their skills in real-world problem solving. While fluent in all things related to data analytics, the candidate should have a desire to understand business or operations workflows and fundamentals.

The ideal candidate brings strong academic or internship experience in business analytics, enjoys problem solving, and is eager to learn tools such as Qlik Sense and Alteryx. They should also have a foundation in analytics concepts, an eye for detail, and a desire to understand new technologies and business processes. This role will directly support ongoing improvements to our analytics environment, including data modeling, dashboard development, and enabling self-service analytics for end users in multiple departments, with a specific focus on Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop repeatable data preparation workflows in Alteryx to support reporting and analysis needs.
  • Assist with creating automated reporting solutions and data pipelines.
  • Validate data logic, calculations, and visualizations for consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Perform data validation and troubleshooting analysis to understand trends, errors, or anomalies.
  • Assist with data modeling tasks, including preparing new fields, refining dimensions, and supporting fact table logic.
  • Support analytics projects by translating business questions into analytical approaches with research, data validation, and clear documentation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, refine user needs, and deliver data-driven recommendations.
  • Present findings in a clear, concise manner to business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to team best practices related to version control, visualization standards, and workflow management.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests, helping stakeholders find answers through self-service tools where possible.
  • Contribute to larger BI initiatives such as data warehouse updates, dashboard redesigns, or analytics process improvements.
  • Support iterative development cycles by gathering user feedback, testing solutions, and documenting changes.
  • Proactively suggest enhancements to reports, workflows, or data structures.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
  • Academic or internship experience with data analysis, business analytics, or BI coursework.
  • Exposure to at least one visualization tool (Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts (dimensions, facts, star schemas).
  • Strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn new tools and methods to break down ambiguous problems.
  • Foundational understanding of data modeling, structured problem solving, and analytics concepts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users.

Preferred

  • Master's degree or coursework in Business Analytics and/or major minor in Operations Management.
  • Previous BI or analytics internship or entry-level work experience.
  • Exposure to Manufacturing Operations
  • Understanding of best practices for data visualization, UX for dashboards, and data storytelling.
  • Experience working with data preparation tools (e.g., Alteryx, KNIME, SSIS).
  • Basic experience with SQL, Python, R, or another scripting/query language (coursework or project-based experience accepted).

Key Competencies

  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to learn new tools and frameworks quickly
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to break down complex issues
  • Professional curiosity and effective communication
  • Collaborative mindset and service-oriented approach
  • Comfort working with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities
