Position Purpose: The Clinical Data System Analyst serves as a vital link between health systems, medical providers, and the quality department. Collaborating across disciplines, this role assesses, quantifies, and resolves data quality issues within Business Intelligence (BI), reporting, and health IT systems. The analyst works with department heads to implement systems that reduce errors and plays a key role in regulatory reporting, including UDS, OSHPD, HEDIS, and grants.


Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

1. Work with the IT Director to ensure appropriate equipment and systems are available.

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.

3. Utilize a ticket tracking system for EHR and support Director and departments across FTOC.

4. Perform remote troubleshooting and diagnostics with vendors, and users

5. Participate in EHR system maintenance upgrades and patches to debug before Production launch.

6. Generate reports to evaluate data integrity.

7. Assist in identifying opportunities for process and quality improvement.

8. Knowledgeable of Population Health Management (PHM) software such as Relevant, to analyze patient data from various sources to identify at-risk patients, care gaps, etc.

9. Make recommendations for future upgrades with Patient Technology aspect

10. Significant experience in all facets of IT, including systems applications, database administration, and reporting software.

11. Assist in APM (Alternative payment model) and reporting capabilities in grant reporting

12. Collaborate with IT team members to enhance eClinicalWorks EHR system functionality and user experience.

13. Address and resolve issues related to EHR interfaces and auxiliary services.

14. Export and analyze data from EHR systems to identify and resolve quality issues.

15. Develop and implement procedures to improve data collection, analysis, and quality.

16. Work with 3rd party vendors to integrate new features, enhance EHR software, and advance technological capabilities.

17. Evaluate and recommend technological advancements to improve system performance and data management.

18. Ensure EHR systems and data processes comply with regulatory requirements, including UDS, OSHPD, Title X, HQM, HEDIS and other grant-related documentation.

19. Prepare and review visual maps or dashboards to illustrate trends and support regulatory reporting.

20. Train and educate users on data quality principles, EHR functionalities, and best practices.

21. Provide ongoing support and updates to keep users informed and systems optimized.

22. Analyze exception reports and data trends to identify and resolve system or process issues.

23. Make formal recommendations to leadership on data quality improvements and system enhancements.

24. Recognize areas for policy and procedure improvement.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or Related Field In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must have minimum 3 years’ experience in informatics, EMR, health education, public health, nursing or other related fields.
  • The Clinical Data System Analyst ideally has at least 2 years of healthcare experience and is highly adept using power BI, excel and other analysis and visualization tools.
  • EClinicalWorks experience required.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work Schedule:

  • FTOC is an in-person organization first, and foremost. Employees are expected to be on-site for their scheduled shifts.
  • Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., however, employee schedules vary, depending on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs. As such, FTOC may need to modify work schedules to meet such needs.
  • Holidays and weekends may be required depending on an employee’s department due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs as FTOC continues to grow and expand work days and hours.
  • Overtime may also occur due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel will be required for this position. Must be able to travel to FTOC sites as needed, including short notice.
