Job description

LINX is hiring an Entry Level RF Designer to join our wireless team in Denver, CO supporting the design and technical delivery of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) projects across commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, stadiums, and public safety environments.

This role is built for two types of candidates:

  • Recent engineering graduates who have the technical foundation in RF, wireless systems, or electrical engineering and are ready to apply it to real commercial DAS projects with mentorship from senior designers.
  • RF field technicians who have hands-on experience testing and commissioning DAS systems and are ready to transition from the field into a design-focused career. If you've run sweep tests, operated PIM analyzers, or commissioned DAS systems on-site and you've been thinking about moving into design — this is the role.

You will be trained on iBwave, LINX's design standards, and our project delivery process. What we're hiring for is the right technical foundation and the right mindset.

Pay: $60,000 - $80,000/year

Where This Role Fits at LINX

LINX runs a clear technical career ladder in our wireless division:

Entry Level RF Designer → RF Designer → Senior RF Designer → RF Engineering Lead / Director of Engineering

Designers who develop iBwave proficiency, earn their iBwave certification, and build a track record of accurate, constructable designs move up this ladder. The DAS and wireless market is growing — public safety DAS (ERCES), in-building 5G, and enterprise wireless are all driving sustained project volume. The designers we develop now are the senior engineers of our next growth phase.

What You'll Be Doing

System Design

  • Learn and develop proficiency in iBwave to build DAS solutions that meet applicable codes, compliance requirements, and constructability standards — iBwave training and certification support provided
  • Analyze benchmark data and import findings into iBwave to validate system design objectives
  • Produce and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) in collaboration with senior designers
  • Import floor plans, geocode locations, and model buildings within iBwave

Site Surveys

  • Conduct site surveys and collect benchmark data in accordance with LINX standards — this is hands-on field work that field technician candidates will recognize immediately
  • Identify and document site conditions relevant to accurate, constructable system designs
  • As you develop, progress to leading survey activities and overseeing surveys performed by others

Commissioning & Troubleshooting

  • Develop and execute system test plans based on project scope of work
  • Operate RF test equipment including sweep testers, PIM analyzers, spectrum analyzers, scanners, test phones, and CW generators — candidates with field testing backgrounds are competitive here from day one
  • Capture required test data and installation photos to verify system performance and installation quality
  • Troubleshoot DAS systems and validate overall system functionality and performance

Documentation & Quality Control

  • Ensure permit sets and construction drawings contain accurate code and construction details consistent with approved designs
  • Review and analyze system performance data to confirm proper system operation
  • Assemble close-out packages (COPs) including Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) documentation
  • Organize and upload project documentation within LINX's designated repositories

Project Collaboration

  • Work alongside project managers, installation teams, and sales personnel throughout project delivery
  • Support technical execution including installation quality verification, testing validation, commissioning, and close-out documentation review
  • Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions as your experience grows
  • Contribute to technical standards, process documentation, and training materials over time

Requirements

This role has two valid entry pathways with different requirements. You are only expected to meet one of these pathways:

Pathway 1 — Recent Engineering Graduate

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related field
  • Coursework or academic project experience in RF propagation, antenna systems, wireless communications, or network design
  • Familiarity with general engineering tools including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, technical drawing interpretation
  • No commercial DAS experience required. We will train you on iBwave and our design process
  • Internship or co-op experience in a wireless, telecom, or construction technology environment is a plus but not required

Pathway 2 — RF Field Technician Transitioning to Design

  • 2+ years of hands-on field experience installing, testing, or commissioning DAS systems or related low voltage wireless infrastructure
  • Direct experience operating RF test equipment including sweep testers, PIM analyzers, spectrum analyzers, or equivalent
  • Working understanding of how DAS systems function in the field and what makes a design constructable, what creates problems during installation and commissioning
  • Demonstrated interest in moving into a design-focused role.
  • No degree required for this pathway if field experience is strong and directly relevant

Required for Both Pathways

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawing sets
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) at a working level
  • Ability to obtain manufacturer certifications as required by project scope

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

  • iBwave certification or coursework
  • Experience with public safety DAS / ERCES systems
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Bluebeam Revu familiarity

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: $60,000 - $80,000/year
FLSA Status: Exempt (salaried)
Benefits:

  • 401(k) with 50% employer match on first 5% contributed
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with FSA and HSA options
  • Short and long-term disability coverage
  • 3 weeks PTO (vacation and sick combined)
  • 8 paid holidays
  • iBwave training and certification support provided
  • Ongoing technical development and manufacturer certification support
