MANTECH seeks motivated, career, and customer-oriented Technical Writer for a new initiative. This effort supports the rapid design, deployment, operation, and sustainment of enterprise-scale AI, data, and mission platform capabilities across cloud, edge, and classified operational environment
Summary
This role supports ATO documentation, operational runbooks, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer activities. You will ensure all system and process documentation is accurate, compliant, and ready for sustainment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation for engineering, platform, and API teams.
  • Develop and manage operational runbooks, technical guides, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Support RMF/ATO documentation requirements for system accreditation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and engineers to translate complex technical processes into clear, concise, and compliant content.
  • Manage knowledge transfer activities to ensure effective long-term sustainment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, or a related technical field.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a technical writer in a software development or IT environment.
  • Proven ability to write and edit content for API documentation, RMF/ATO documents, and operational guides.
  • Experience working with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather complex technical information.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and content management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supporting DoD or IC documentation environments.
  • Familiarity with software platform documentation and DevSecOps documentation workflows.
  • Experience creating content for cloud-native or AI/ML systems.

Clearance Requirements:
  • For onsite work, a TS/SCI clearance with Poly will be required.

Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,500.00-$125,600.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
