Altair Data Resources is seeking an entry-level Data Analyst who is looking for an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial, high-growth, enthusiastic environment. You will gain significant experience within our Data Management group helping clients understand more about their data. Using our analytics and visualization tools, you will gain experience working with industry-leading software applications such as Alteryx, Python, Power BI, R and SQL.
Data Analyst Job Duties
Data analyst responsibilities include conducting analysis and producing datasets based on customer or manager requirements. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor key performance indicators and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Data Analyst Responsibilities

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Requirements
Data Analyst Job Requirements
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst. Class project experience may be substituted for work experience
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, data processing, data mining and segmentation techniques. Quality control methodologies are a plus (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (Python, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, R etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Working towards or completed BS or MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management or Statistics
