Cybersecurity Data Insights AnalystJob Summary
Lafayette Group is seeking experienced professionals to provide advanced consulting support for federal cybersecurity programs. The Cybersecurity Data Insights Analyst supports data-informed decision-making across the client enterprise. This role produces actionable solutions to active real-world cyber threats, ensuring that the right people are receiving the right information at the right time. This position involves developing a deep understanding of the client's mission and priorities, anticipating client needs, and translating them into actionable insights by asking the right questions, analyzing and cleaning the data, and designing clear, visually compelling stories that support decision-making.
The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced, collaborative team member who shares our passion for supporting cybersecurity, has an innate curiosity to learn, and the drive to excel with a team of like-minded colleagues in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with client stakeholders to identify and document objectives, opportunities for improvement, and decision-making needs to optimize client performance and efficiency.
  • Bridge communication gaps within diverse communities by facilitating information to help unify cyber defense capabilities from government, industry and international organizations.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and pain points and translate those into meaningful recommendations and visual presentations.
  • Analyze and interpret existing datasets and dashboards to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform strategic decisions and drive mission outcomes.
  • Help transform partner information and outreach data into clear narratives that highlight the real impact of the office and guide client focus for executive briefings and reports.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources into clear insights and visual use cases using tools such as MS lists, Power BI, and Excel to inform project decision-points.
  • Support the maturation of data practices by helping to define and implement data governance standards and reporting procedures.
  • Work with client stakeholders to prioritize database/dashboard elements in terms of mission benefit and provide recommendations to support the effective collection, analysis, and reporting of partner information.
  • Respond to ad hoc client needs arising from a dynamic, continually changing environment, by adjusting strategy, reprioritizing work as needed, and proactively documenting and communicating the resulting impacts.

Required Skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability (EOD).
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems management, mathematics, engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
  • 5+ years of front-line consulting experience with a proven track record of delivering data analytics work products that address questions and decisions of central importance to clients' missions.
  • Expert proficiency in using tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, MS Lists, Excel, Slack, and CRM software to organize and present pertinent information in intuitive, useful formats.
  • Keen understanding of the value of data quality and its importance to effective data analytics.
  • Ability to identify strategic improvements independently and brief peers or leadership accordingly.
  • Ability to contextualize analytical findings within broader geopolitical contexts, international relations, and the cyber defense environment.
  • Assess data quality, reliability, and analytical limitations, and communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support data governance, reporting procedures, and continuous improvement of analytical processes and workflows.
  • Experience generating data products and reports that organize data analysis in a consumable format for a broad range of stakeholders, including interactive data visualizations and infographics.
  • Ability to articulate essential quality aspects of available data to clients and limitations of what can be learned from them.
  • Ability to take initiative as a self-starter, ask clarifying questions, and take directions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with the operations and mission of DHS CISA, JCDC, or other federal cybersecurity organizations.

Location: Arlington, VA; on-site 3 days per week
Salary Range: $80,000-$115,000
