WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Credit & Collections Account Specialist is responsible for managing customer credit and collection activities to support company cash flow, reduce risk, and maintain strong customer relationships. This role partners closely with Sales, Service, Rental and internal teams to research, resolve, and communicate account-related issues accurately and effectively.
Through analysis, follow-up, and problem-solving, the Credit Account Specialist manages assigned customer accounts, ensures timely payment of receivables, and supports informed credit decisions. The role applies strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills to balance customer service with effective credit and collection practices, contributing directly to the company's financial performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage assigned open receivables, including proactive collection efforts, dispute resolution, and payment research
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding account inquiries, payment questions, and account maintenance requests
  • Communicate effectively with Sales, Service, Rental, and other internal departments to resolve credit and billing concerns
  • Research unapplied or misapplied payments and work with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely posting
  • Prepare and set up new customer accounts and credit requests for management review and approval
  • Review, analyze, and interpret consumer and business credit reports to support credit decisions
  • Maintain accurate account documentation and notes to support consistency, compliance, and continuity
  • Follow established credit policies and procedures while exercising sound judgment on account issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Credit & Collections team
  • May work in an environment where hazards are present
  • Requires frequent use of hands for typing, operating phones, and handling job-related materials

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of a high school diploma with two (2) years' experience in credit and collections is required.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

KNOWLEDGE, TECHNICAL SKILL, & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Bankruptcy and collection laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) laws
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Documentation skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail
