Job description

Eliot is seeking compassionate, service-oriented Youth Advocates to work in a staff-secure setting for court-involved youth, ages 13 to 21 within our Juvenile Justice network. Eliot's Juvenile Justice staff-secure setting serves court-involved youth.  This position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact a youth's life by providing patient, supportive care and mentorship. 

The role is multifaceted, encompassing advocacy, skill building, care coordination, education and role modeling. You will work as part of a dedicated team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals inspiring positive change in the youth we serve.  

Responsibilities:

  • Promote hope and empowerment through support and meetings with clients
  • Empower clients to exercise autonomy in all aspects of their lives
  • Use principles and practices of youth development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity
  • Foster the youth's skills and interests and mentor their positive development.
  • Implement program activities that are safe and foster personal growth and healthy choices
  • Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth
  • Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or related experience
  • Experience working with youth
  • Valid Massachusetts drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Must be 21 years of age or older by start date

Schedules Available: 

  • 7am-3pm, Wednesday-Sunday (Monday, Tuesday off)
  • 3pm-11pm, Thursday-Monday (Tuesday/ Wednesday off)
  • 3pm-11pm, Friday-Tuesday (Wednesday/Thursday off)
  • 3pm-11pm, Saturday-Wednesday (Thursday/Friday off)
  • 11pm-7am,  Friday-Tuesday (Wednesday/Thursday off)
  • 11pm-7am, Thursday-Monday (Tuesday/ Wednesday off)
