POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Traffic Controller to support our paving crews and ensure safe and efficient traffic flow through construction zones. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to gain hands-on experience, learn traffic control operations, and grow within the company. You will play a critical role in protecting workers, the public, and maintaining smooth job site operations.

JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Direct and control traffic around construction zones using signs, cones, and hand signals.
  • Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices before, during, and after operations.
  • Ensure a safe work zone for crew members, motorists, and pedestrians.
  • Communicate clearly with crew members and equipment operators to coordinate traffic flow.
  • Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control methods as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Operate heavy machienery. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license with a positive driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Basic understanding of construction or outdoor work is helpful but not required.
  • Willingness to learn traffic control procedures, safety standards, and equipment use.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No prior experience required – training provided.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel and work out of town when required.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work extended hours most days of the week. 
  • Must be able to wear required PPE such as hard hats, safety vests, gloves, and boots.

Travel within Oklahoma and North Texas is required.
