Job description

The Hospital Parking & Access Screener is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to patient-designated parking areas. This role ensures that parking spaces remain available for patients and visitors by politely and professionally screening vehicles, verifying purpose of visit, and redirecting employees or unauthorized vehicles to appropriate parking locations.
Responsibilities
Greet all incoming vehicles with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Determine the purpose of each visitor's hospital visit through brief, courteous questioning.
Verify patient or visitor status using appointment slips, patient passes, or visit information.
Direct employees and unauthorized vehicles to designated staff parking areas.
Maintain knowledge of hospital parking policies, locations, and directions to alternate parking areas.
Document and report any parking policy violations or recurring issues to a supervisor.
Coordinate with hospital security and parking management when needed.
Provide directions and basic hospital information to visitors.
Assist with traffic flow to ensure safety and minimize congestion at hospital entrances.
Years of Experience: Entry Level
Language Skills: Proficient in English, both verbally and written
Education Requirements: High school diploma/GED
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English

  • Effectively maneuvering around various locations inside and outside while engaging in bending, prolonged standing, running, and prolonged sitting in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to receive medical and security clearance for one or more locations

  • Possess the manual dexterity to operate essential garage equipment, including pay-on-foot machines and garage barriers.

  • Strong sense of customer service

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and push a minimum of 200 pounds

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Be able and willing to smile during every customer interaction.

  • Maintain uniform standards while around the account.
