What is the difference between Entry Level Contract Mechanical Engineer vs Mechanical Designer?
| Aspect | Entry Level Contract Mechanical Engineer | Mechanical Designer |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, possibly internships | Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field, sometimes certifications |
| Work Environment | Engineering firms, manufacturing, construction sites | Design offices, CAD labs, manufacturing settings |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Engineering consulting, manufacturing companies, contractors | Design firms, product development, manufacturing |
Both roles often require a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Entry Level Contract Mechanical Engineers focus on applying engineering principles to projects, often working on design, analysis, and testing. Mechanical Designers primarily create detailed CAD models and drawings for manufacturing. While both work in related environments, engineers typically handle broader engineering tasks, whereas designers focus on detailed design work.
