Raytheon in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Continuous Improvement Specialist at an entry level to support our ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency, optimize processes, and drive organizational excellence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, implement best practices, and ensure alignment with Raytheon’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) and operational standards, including AS9100 requirements.

What You Will Do:

Process Improvement Initiatives

  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement opportunities across various departments, including Fabrication, Assembly, Inspection, and Test (FAIT).
  • Support the development and execution of Qualification Plans for deliverable production hardware in compliance with AS9100 standards.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Utilize metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Quality, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders and leadership.

Training and Documentation

  • Assist in the development and delivery of training materials to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes, procedures, and improvement activities.

Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure all process improvement activities comply with Raytheon’s internal policies, procedures, and external industry standards.
  • Support adherence to global trade laws and other regulatory requirements as applicable.

Other

  • You may travel occasionally to support process improvement initiatives at other Raytheon facilities.
  • This is a 9/80 schedule (9-hour shifts, off every other Friday)
     

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
    • Relevant experience is working in a manufacturing / production line environment or operations environment
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) experience (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, etc.)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
     

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with varied teams of different skill levels.
  • Basic understanding of process mapping and root cause analysis tools.
  • Ability to learn and apply Raytheon’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) and AS9100 standards.
  • Knowledge of Raytheon’s internal systems, such as PRISM, Power BI, is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
