Overview:
The Laborer I will perform a variety of tasks to support construction operations, including material handling, site cleanup, and assisting skilled tradespeople. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry and advance their career with a reputable company.

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Material Handling:
-    Assist with the loading and unloading of construction materials, equipment, and tools, ensuring safe and efficient handling and transportation to designated work areas.
-    Organize and maintain construction materials, supplies, and equipment on-site, keeping inventory well-organized and accessible to crew members.

2.    Site Cleanup:
-    Perform general cleanup and debris removal at construction sites, including sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste materials in designated containers or disposal areas.
-    Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.

3.    Assistance to Skilled Trades:
-    Provide assistance and support to skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, ironworkers, and welders, by fetching tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
-    Assist with simple construction tasks, such as digging trenches, pouring concrete, and setting up scaffolding, under the direction of experienced workers.

4.    Safety Compliance:
-    Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training sessions.
-    Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately and take appropriate corrective actions as directed.

5.    Equipment Maintenance:
-    Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment, tools, and machinery, including lubricating moving parts, cleaning surfaces, and performing routine inspections.
-    Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or defects to supervisors for repair or replacement.


6.    Team Collaboration:
-    Work collaboratively with other crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely completion of construction tasks.
-    Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to receive instructions, provide updates on work progress, and coordinate activities.
 

Qualifications:
-    High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
-    Prior experience in construction or related field is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
-    Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
-    Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials preferred.
-    Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
-    Commitment to safety, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating hazards on the job site.
