American Structurepoint's Construction Solutions group is seeking an entry-level Construction Inspector in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you'll play an important part in supporting transportation and utility projects. Your responsibilities will include reviewing plans, observing construction activity, tracking progress, and performing basic material testing - all while collaborating with contractors and project teams.

Responsibilities

What you will do: 

  • Observe and document construction activities on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and industry standards 
  • Assist in communication and coordination among contractors, design teams, utility providers, and local stakeholders to help keep projects running smoothly 
  • Prepare and manage detailed daily field reports, including work performed, field measurements, and calculations to track progress and support payment processes 
  • Conduct on-site material testing, including soil sampling, compaction testing, and concrete testing, to verify quality and adherence to specifications 
  • Use industry-standard tools such as Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager, and BlueBeam to document, report, and collaborate effectively 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to support project success and gain exposure to various aspects of the construction process 
Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Management Technology, Engineering Technology, Agriculture or Biological Engineering, or a related field 
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license for transportation to and from office/project locations 
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and try new things 
  • Willing to work in extreme temperatures as some work assignments are outdoors.  Applicant must have the ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
