About the Job

Signal & Strand is partnering with a global leader in interconnect solutions to identify a Power Connector Engineer focused on front-end design and customer engagement. This role sits at the intersection of product design and field application engineering, working closely with customers to translate requirements into high-performance power connector solutions.

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in next-generation applications across electric vehicles and data center infrastructure.

The Mandate
  • Own front-end design and technical engagement for power connector products
  • Bridge product development and customer application needs through hands-on engineering support
  • Drive design optimization through simulation, analysis, and real-world feedback
  • Act as a key technical partner to both internal teams and external customers

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and refine power connector solutions using 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks
  • Perform CAE and FEA simulations to evaluate and optimize electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, supporting solution development and requirement alignment
  • Partner with sales and field engineering teams to provide technical guidance and application support
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
  • Contribute to tolerance analysis using GD&T principles to ensure manufacturability and performance

Ideal Profile
  • Background as a Connector Design Engineer, Field Application Engineer, or Systems Engineer within a connector manufacturer or relevant end-market
  • Proven experience working across both product design and customer-facing environments
  • Track record of contributing to or leading power connector programs from concept through customer adoption
  • Hands-on experience with high-current or high-voltage connector design, including thermal management challenges
  • Familiarity with EV or data center applications is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools
  • Experience with CAE and FEA simulation methods
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis
  • Fluent in Chinese with professional English proficiency for technical communication

Location & Work Model
  • Location flexible depending on business needs
  • On-site or hybrid expectations aligned with customer engagement requirements
  • Domestic and International Travel is Required
Compensation
  • $80,000 to $110,000 base salary + Bonus
  • Compensation is benchmarked internally and remains flexible based on experience and qualifications
