General Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to join our surveying team. The survey CAD Technician will play a crucial role in the preparation and production of survey documents, maps, and drawings using CAD software. The successful candidate will collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and precise representation of survey data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD software to produce detailed and accurate survey drawings, plats, and maps based on field survey data.
  • Collaborate with surveyors and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Process and manipulate field survey data, ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal description and boundary surveys.
  • Create and update topographic maps, profiles, and cross-sections.
  • Verify and validate survey data for consistency and accuracy.
  • Generate survey reports and documentation for internal and external use.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to survey CAD technology.
  • Support the team in the resolution of technical issues and challenges related to survey CAD work.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent certification in CAD or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Survey CAD technician in a civil engineering or related environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoDesk, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and terminology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the civil engineering industry.
