Job description

Provide technical support to end users, aid in the administration of the GVHC computing environment and assist with the general operations of the IT Department.

Schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm
This position will work at our Administrative site.

Compensation: $26.93 - $28.28 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Install and maintain hardware.
  • Install and maintain software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software problems.
  • Provide tier 1 and tier 2 support to end-users.
  • Assist with the general operations of the IT department.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels).
  • Must be able to speak clearly in order to communicate information to End Users and Staff.
  • Must be able to hear staff on the phone and in person.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for RJ45 pin-outs, computer screens, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be comfortable in tight or confined crawl spaces.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually average.

Education/Experience Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Windows Operating System, TCP/IP, Internet, Microsoft Office, and Networking required.
  • Speak respectfully and professionally and in terms that both novice and experienced computer users can understand.
  • Work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Travel to multiple sites.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Develop knowledge base articles.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree or certifications with information technology focus preferred, one (1) year of IT experience may be substituted for relevant education or technical certification.
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting computer software and hardware required.
  • Advanced knowledge of commonly supported computer software and hardware required.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management processes required.
  • A valid CA driver’s license and insurance is required.
