Job Summary

At Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling, you can build a long-term career in maintenance with a clear path from entry-level roles to advanced technical and leadership positions. Gain hands-on experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment while developing skills in mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and automation.

The Maintenance Technician provides competent and effective maintenance support to plant operations.  Identifies, troubleshoots, and repairs problems in mechanical and basic electrical systems within production equipment and processes. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and supports root cause analysis on end-to-end processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs preventive maintenance (PMs) on all mechanical/basic electrical systems and modules; this includes but is not limited to disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
  • Analyze equipment breakdowns, diagnose malfunctions, and restore equipment to operational condition; escalate complex or recurring issues to Electro-Mechanical Technicians or Engineering as needed.  
  • Utilize available system information and input from Operational Technicians to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues within defined scope.
  • Utilizes SAP to create work orders for maintenance activities to include PMs, parts requests, and other various tasks.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures; actively support a safe work environment and report hazards.  Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and GMP standards.
  • Continuously improves technical and soft skills to better support the facility and the team.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience required.
  • Prior experience in the role or equal vocational and technical training.
  • Maintenance background should consist of strong mechanical systems knowledge including machine components, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge and ability to support methodologies of breakdown analysis, preventive maintenance, planned maintenance, and periodic maintenance.
  • Familiarity and understanding of automated systems.
  • Ability to assist with troubleshooting under guidance.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and parts drawings to support equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Computer application skills. SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems and basic electrical components including motors, sensors, relays, valves, pumps, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance)/AM (Autonomous Maintenance) Pillar Tools preferred. 
  • Prior experience with LEAN principles preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing: Frequently (standing on feet for extended periods of time), up to 12 hours.
  • Speaking: Often (investigates, coordinates, recommends, reports)
  • Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents)
  • Mobility: Frequent travel throughout facility and equipment
  • Bending/Squatting: Frequent bending and squatting to complete maintenance/installation tasks.
  • Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to perform maintenance/repair tasks.
  • Lifting:  Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or stairs.
  • Climate: Frequent work in a non-climate-controlled environment (cold, hot)

Pay: $30.00-32.00 an hour
