About the Role:

Alliant Engineering has an opening for aSurvey Office CAD Technician. This position will support Professional Land Surveyors or the survey department during the preparation of typical survey projects such as boundary surveys, existing conditions surveys, subdivision plats, common interest community plats, registered land surveys and survey exhibits.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides non-technical routine and basic support for assigned projects, using a computer as an aid to drafting at the entry-level
  • Completes detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specification, and written and verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs.
  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to Project Surveyor or Project Manager for review.
  • Revises or changes drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings and completes simple calculations with specific instructions.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; requires some supervision, however, can work independently
  • Maintains neat and orderly work area, which allows access to project information to other team members.


Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical education in survey technology, or equivalent CAD drafting experience.
  • Must have platting experience, 2 or more years preferred.
  • Knowledge in Autodesk Civil 3D or higher
  • Experience with MicroStation is preferred but not required.
  • Must be proficient with Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, etc.)
