We invite you to apply to join our team of employees who are dedicated to excellence that meet the needs of the warfighters and our customers around the world, day in and day out.Job SummaryProvides technical support to the quality and quality engineering (QE) functions | Conducts quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards | Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards | Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standardsImpact of the RoleGeneral Profile
  • Works with clearly defined methods and tasks that are described in detail
  • Works under close supervision with little autonomy
  • Requires little or no prior relevant training or work experience
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions
  • Performs repetitive and routine inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of standard parts, units, equipment, or materials.
  • Performs inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
  • Reworks or rejects subassemblies or finished products as required.
  • Performs audits to ensure standards of quality are maintained.
  • Documents the results of the inspections and testing.
  • Coordinates calibration of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Assists with inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
    • Required Qualifications
      • Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 0-3 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Mathematical skills. Computer skills. Technical expertise. Detail oriented.
      Physical Requirements
      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      • May be requested to work a different shift.
      • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
      • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
