What You'll Do as an Engineering Draftsman:

  • Create & update CAD models and production drawings using Onshape.
  • Develop concepts and change requests into detailed, production-ready designs.
  • Produce clear, accurate shop and assembly drawings with all required details.
  • Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) principles to support efficient, cost-effective production.
  • Manage engineering changes (ECRs/ECOs) and keep drawings and documentation up to date.
  • Work closely with shop teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
  • Support engineering projects with drafting, detailing, and design updates.
  • Assist with prototype development, including occasional hands-on fabrication and testing.

Our Ideal Engineering Draftsman:

  • Experienced: Familiar with mechanical drafting standards, design for manufacturability (DFM), and GD working knowledge of assembly and fabrication processes; experience with construction equipment, electrical, or hydraulic systems is a plus; post-secondary degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Tech-capable: Experience with CAD software and CAD design; familiarity with project management tools and Google Suite is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented: Produces accurate, thorough drawings and documentation with a high level of precision.
  • Efficient problem-solver: Applies critical thinking and a systematic approach to quickly and objectively identify root causes and develop proposed solutions.
  • Team-oriented: Works well with others, communicates clearly, and collaborates effectively with engineering and shop teams.
  • Self-motivated: Manages time well, takes ownership of work, and follows through on tasks.
  • Active: Able to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
