Job Description
Staff members assist with daily operations of the Harford Community College's Harford Sports Complex.
Duties include, but are not limited to, hooking and unhooking scoreboards for each field; turning complex lights on and off when needed, staffing the outdoor recreation office; report and post game scores; update Web site with league standings; re-dress fields between games; report any repair or replacements required for sports complex equipment; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
Your application to this position will remain active to December 31 of the current year. If you are not selected by that time, you must reapply to be considered. If you apply on or after November 1 of the current year, your application will remain active to December 31 of the following calendar year.
Required Education
A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Experience
No prior experience required; training will be provided for entry-level candidates.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Good communication and organizational skills and the ability to take direction are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sports or athletics programs and game-day requirements, such as lining and dragging fields, is preferred.
Computer proficiency in a Windows-based PC environment is preferred.
General Weekly Work Schedule
Work is scheduled as-needed, and may include day, evening, and weekend hours. Schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
The hours of part-time, as-needed employees are limited to a total of less than 500 hours in each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
